TIKHVIN MOTHER OF GOD. 18th. century, Central Russia. Egg tempera, gesso on wood panel with raised borders or “kovcheg”. Two splints missing from the back. This icon was cleared and partly restored on the gold leaf and borders of icon. 10 ¼” x 12 ¼” (26 x 31cm.)
