KAZANSKAYA MOTHER OF God This icon is of the Hodegetria type from the Greek meaning Pointer of The Way and is usually depicted with the Christ Child giving a blessing as He is held in the arms of the Mother of God. 19c, egg tempera on wood panel, overlaid with very nice silver reposes and chased riza. Hallmarked 84. Size: 2 ¼” x 2 ¾”
